Enwezor at next Biennale arte

OKWUI ENWEZOR is the name of the next 56th Art biennale in Venezia 2015.

Paolo Baratta and the managers of Biennale D’arte unveiled yesterday the new art director, only after thanking Massimiliano Gioni for the past one.

Mr. Enwezor was born in Nigeria in 1963, and moved to NY Bronx studying Arts.
Currently director of the Haus der Kunst in Munich, Germany, he has been art director for the 2 Johannesburg Biennale in South Africa (1996-1998), Bienal Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo in Siviglia Spain (2005-2007), 7. Gwangju Biennale in South Korea (2008) and of Triennal d’Art Contemporaine of Parigi at Palais de Tokyo (2012). In 1994 he also founded “NKA: Journal of Contemporary African Art” edited by Duke University Press, and he has been teaching at San Francisco Art Institute, University of Pittsburgh, Columbia University, University of Umea Sweden and New York University.
