Keep your eyes on the road – The Lone Wolf single
“The Devil and I” will be the name of the album by Paul Marshall under the new name of Lone Wolf, a debut powered by Bella Union. This is the video realised for the launch of the first single “Keep your eyes on the road” thanks to the collaboration of Ashely Dean, the popular animator of the Broken Pixel methods. It wants to be an homage to Peter Gabriel’s video “Sledgehammer” (1986) that has been considered the best animated video into music history until now. Good sounds, great video! Thomas Broomé

To work in a versatile and groundbreaking manner through different techniques and expressions has become one of Thomas Broomés most well known features. In his early work he collaborated with The Interactive Institute (Interaktiva Institutet) in order to produce interactive art and techniques. Later on he brought those experiences along to develop his own artistry. His debut exhibition at Galleri Magnus Karlsson in 2006 received a lot of attention. For example, the sculpture ‘Low_Res_Man’ was shown, along with a series of black and white drawings made out of words: ‘ModernMantra’. These works have seen an unprecedented spread on the Internet after beeing exposed at the Frieze Art Fair in London and The Armory Show in New York.
Simon Page
Simon Page is a new, up and coming graphic designer from the UK. As well as designing some very diverse and sometimes complex geometric and mathematical print art, Simon also creates fresh typefaces and typography art which really push the boundaries of standard type. We already presented his Year of Astronomy, but his portfolio is full of good works. Can you believe he only started creating self-initiated works in January of 2009?
“Let’s face it most of the time typography isn’t exciting and I love to create original and hard to read designs which really engage people.”
Pocko / Magma – Captive
Video directed by Oliver Durant and Bruna Guerreiro at Captive with illustrations by Chisato Shinya ‘Kinpro’.
“Illustration agency and publisher Pocko approached us to create an animated feature to accompany their touring exhibition of customized russian Matryoshka dolls entitled ‘Pockoshko’. The exhibition began in Magma bookstores London as part of the London Design Festival. The dolls are to be auctioned in aid of a Russian childrens charity in a final exhibition ‘To Russia With Love’.” – Captive
The soundtrack composed and performed by Shervin Shaeri and Jamie Masters and produced by Leon Dixon-Goulden at Adelphoi Music
“Two of our composers worked collaboratively to produce the quirky treatment. The original brief was for a chic piece, with a slight feel of comedy and intrigue. The idea was for the work to play out like a little film with the soundtrack almost acting as dialogue and reacting to the animation.” – Adelphoi Music
