It’s still the same Diana Mini camera that you’ve always loved – it shoots two formats (square or half-frame) using all kinds of 35mm film. A single roll of 36 shots can give you 72 shots if you’re using the half frame format! Just like the rest of the cameras in the Diana family, it gives you lovely lo-fi images.
Riarmate le Polaroid
Dopo aver annunciato il blocco della produzione della produzione delle land camera e relativi rullini nel 2008, dopo aver assunto Lady Gaga come direttore creativo per rimediare al disastro, Polaroid non riesce a sopprimere la passione per le foto istantanee. L’aver soppiantato la fotografia istantanea per tuffarsi industrialmente nella digitale, ha solo fatto capire alla multinazionale quanto fosse grossa la schiera di amatori a cui lasciava la bocca asciutta. Dal gennaio 2008 è iniziata la corsa agli armamenti più coinvolgente forse dopo solo la Guerra Fredda. La notizia, che le pellicole istantanee fossero messe decapitate e messe fuori produzione, fece accumulare scorte di rullini nei magazzini dei più abbienti e patire la nostalgia a tutti gli altri.
Forse nostalgici dei colori fotografati alle feste anni ‘80, forse nostalgici dei colori slavati dalle pellicole scadute, un gruppo di buone anime ha ripreso in mano i vecchi stabilimenti e i vecchi macchinari per dare ancora alla luce pellicole, nuove pellicole per vecchi arnesi a loro detta. La produzione ha cominciato a dare i suoi frutti col 2010, quando le pellicole istantanee hanno ripreso timidamente piede nel mercato.
Knap e un gruppo di ex-lavoratori del gruppo hanno riarmato uno stabilimento olandese per dare vita a “Impossible Project“, facendo la speranza degli appassionati in formato fabbrica. Le fotocamere che per decenni hanno dato piacere istantaneo a molti, andavano, a detta della Polaroid Corp., velocemente surclassate dalla moderna fotografia digitale. Dopo aver cercato fortuna nel campo dell’elettronica (scanner, fotocamere, televisori, …) e aver subito il successo incassato nel frattempo da Impossible Project che andava nascendo, la multinazionale ha cercato di ripiegare sulla vecchia fama delle foto istantanee creando la linea PoGo, composta da fotocamera con stampante incomporata e stampante portatile, senza molto successo.
Ringraziando la vecchia fabbrica per tutte le land camera messe in circolazione, e sperando nella riuscita dell’ambizioso progetto di Knap e soci, rilassiamoci un po’ almeno per ora col grandioso matrimonio di una SX70 e una cartuccia Impossible PX70. | The Project

Buttons by Sascha Pohflepp
Buttons in a project by Sascha Pohflepp playing on the notion of the camera as a networked object. Unlike a conventional analog or digital camera, this one doesn’t have any optical parts. It is a camera that will only capture a moment at the press of a button by recording only the time it was pressed. Quickly after it begins to continuously search on the net for other photos that have been taken in the very same moment and displays on the screen. Essentially, it is a camera that – using a SonyEricsson K750i hidden behind the boxing – takes other’sphotos. Photos that were created by someone who pressed a button somewhere at the same time as its own button was pressed. | Via
Holga D
It is just a project by the indian designer Saikat Biswas , but it looks amazing. Holga D is a digital camera inspired from the extremely popular cult Holga and other toy cameras of its kind. Even though it is a digital camera, it retains the qualities and simplicity of the original Holga camera and brings back the joy and delayed gratification associated with good old analog photography.

Because we can’t get enough of the newly revamped Polaroid, we’re currently drooling over this Polaroid 600 ONE Kit designed by Paul Giambarba. The kit contains one redesigned classic camera with a matching 600 film.

And the new issue is OUT for the world at large ladies and gents, the awaited 05 Issue of apartamento. This is not your stereotypical glossy paged mag on the shelves of every international bookstore, neither is it a ragtag school publication. It’s a cover a bit harder to find but definitely a golden gem if you spot it. The content of apartamento is concrete, the topics both captivating and intruiging. The photography candidly exposes the spaces of inherently elegant spaces, whether it be of a family apartment in Milano or of a NYC studio. At only a few Euros, it’s an inspiring piece of literature to float around your flat.
