Lychener Str., mid block just south of Helmholtzplatz hides Signorina Yv. It’s a mixture of vibes, neither homey nor exclusively posh, resting comfortably in between the Standard Hotel and your typical Parisian bar. An elderly couple enjoy the rare sunshine, sunglasses on, still chic. A young mother looks after her son, her demeanor is as if with a history in modeling. An oversized gray sweater accented with a green scarf cycles by. A light blue suit walks in, the silk peeking out of his coat pocket speaks volumes. A roll of paper in hand, he takes a seat, a teddybear as his companion on the white bench by the window front. Touches of red and pink accent the space. The soft music, the sparkling glasses, wooden furniture, flowers, the smell of freshly ground coffee – all quite disarming; One can spend hours in this little space…say with an Auster or a Fforde? Friends chitchat at the counter, each customer greeted with a smile, and the owner waves to locals strolling by. Morning croissants are fantastic here with some jam and the coffee??…well the customers keep coming back all day long so INCLUDE YOURSELF!

The tables hold glass containers from which the scented creations are poured through spigots. The colors range from vodka clear to various shades of yellow and amber. Keep an eye, or your olfactory senses, open for the select few whos recipes date back to the 1920s. The inhouse “chemist” offers a similar refreshing yet rich knowledge depth of advice and suggestions on scent combinations. Don’t be fooled by the minimalist labels, they are holding scents full of complexity and originality. Moreover, Frau Tonis Parfum allows for your own creative input in concocting your own scent, tailored to your skin!
paris review – MERCE AND THE MUSE
Merce, Tess, and Brian – this trio is the bonded operation behind a brand new Paris Coffeehouse so listen up! Located in the northern corners of the 3ème arrondissement, MERCE AND THE MUSE is bringing in all sorts of crowds. Families enjoy salads for lunch and youths are discussing travel plans to Chartres, an architect is reading in the corner and locals are enjoying their coffee on the outside bench (finally, that bit of sunshine!). It’s chill, it’s hip, it’s dynamic. If you step in, Merce might be sitting in the corner creating the menu while Tess prepares the dough for the next day’s fruit tart. On the rare moments between crowds, the two madamoiselles adpot a chic Parisian air as they enjoy cigarettes outside their boutique. Brian keeps up the fight, taking charge of the Marzocco station. But you will always be regarded by this trio with warm welcomes and happy grins!

Le belle giornate sono tornate, e gli amici di Weareunique ci danno qualche consiglio per un pranzetto all’area aperta. Black+Blum ha realizzato un rivoluzionario porta pranzo. Simile ad una insalatiera in ceramica ma con piu’ funzionalità. Il coperchio “tipo vetro” resta fissato al corpo del box, non fa fuoriuscire i liquidi ed ha una ingegnosa area per inserire salse (perfetta anche per gli amanti del sushi). Da utilizzare con la pratica lunch box bag, che una volta tirato fuori il pranzo può essere aperta per creare una piccola coperta per sedersi al parco o una tovaglietta per mangiare sulla tua scrivania. E per le tue bevande cosa c’è di meglio delle bottiglie SIGG : leggere, resistenti, durature e riutilizzabili al 100%. Inoltre il rivestimento interno non altera il gusto dei liquidi e non si deteriora neppure con bevande isotoniche o contenenti gli acidi della frutta.

Mathias is an art director with several large fashion, interior and food magazines on the cv. Their online shop is filled with Swedish design + quality souvenirs.
We have mixed a handful of Swedish brands with small handicraft shops and new talent, and have built our shop to live up to the high standards these producers demand Swedishness will hopefully evoke the same feelings you get when you enter a quality physical shop. berlin review- MEIN HAUS AM SEE
Williamsburg grunge oozing Berlin attitude + a hint of French flair = Mein Haus am See in trendy Mitte, just off Rosenthaler Platz. It’s framed between two concrete walls, exposed and raw. Paint is peeling off the walls but the 1950s furniture only helps in creating a timeless, elegant character. The cafe/bar is a contrast of vibe between structure and spatial quality. But it works!

Three years going and this Berlin goldmine of culinary arts is the Prenzlauerberg stronghold of all characters ranging from mothers armed with baby strollers to chic fashionistas chatting up the hyperactive dressed-down architect. Don’t be surprised if he guards his cappuccino with his life. That’s because for one, the in-house alchemists of Goldhahn & Sampson are controlling the micro-foam to a scientific precision, just for your personal pleasuuuuuure.
