The delicate illustrations of the talented Japanese NewYork-based artist, Yoko Furusho, are a celebration of pastels colors, ageless girls and ethereal landscapes. A delicious exotic graphic smoothie of Alice in Wonderland, Yoshimoto Nara and old Japanese animation topped with love for fashion and details.

Akira Minagawa has created clothes and textiles since 1995 that embodies aesthetic combination of simplicity and beauty. Deeply influenced by the Scandinavian design, Minagawa’s brand Minä Perhonen – literally in Finnish: ”I Butterfly” - merges the finish and dye quality of Japanese textiles with minimalist elegance of North European tradition.

Tokyo Plastic is back!
The Tail Gunner from tokyoplastic on Vimeo.
The genius creators at Tokyo Plastic have been working hard to release their new character’s epic series: Kitteh Kitteh, a superfurry and apparently ultra cute cat with delusions of omnipotence. The concept is not new but the result meets the expectation and you cannot avoid at least to smile at the vision of the funny evilness of the protagonist .
At the moment you can enjoy two episodes – The Tail Gunner and Catzilla – which are going to be screened at a few quite major film festivals, but I suggest to spend some time and watch also the previous works of this amazing creative studio.
A little additional thing which can be found at the moment only on youtube is the Scatman tribute.

FLorian

- Rope Necklace
Florian Ladstaetter, avant-garde designer in the field of jewelry, is pampered by stylists and praised by leading fashion magazines. His resume includes an impressive array of awards, exhibitions and collaborations worldwide and his works are not limited to jewelry, but range from interior design to photography and video production.
Florian does not like stereotypes and labels, but prefers the freedom of interpretation in its production, which is a blend of art and intellect, philosophy, and metal design.Amazing how he manages to give a new shape and meaning to simple materials or objects far away from the idea of jewelry.

大日本人 Big Man Japan

If you are into Japanese pop culture, the bizarre sense of humor and the absurdity of Big Man Japan will surely entertain and amuse you. Director, protagonist and famous comedian, Hitoshi Matsumoto, has reinterpreted the familiar path of traditional daikaiju (big monster) pics, creating a mockumentary with CG monster battles and Power Rangers parody. But don’t expect the action and speed of Hollywood super-heroes movies and of course it’s to be expected that some people will get the joke and some will not.
Oded Ezer

Oded Ezer is an extraordinary Israeli typographic artist and type designer. He stands out for his unconventional ideas which has transformed the concept of typography: many of his creations often are inspired by sources not related to typeface like nature, architecture, and science. Ezer’s works cannot be simply categorized under the name “typography” since fonts have become tridimensional paper-made biological creatures.
If you want to discover more about this visionary designer, Gestalten will realease in April the monograph “Oded Ezer. The Typograper Guide to the Galaxy”
Q-pot

Do you like French macaroons? Do you love chocolate? Do you crave for sweets? Japanese brand Q-pot creations cannot satisfy your discriminate taste, but they are a joy for your eyes and they will make you drool.
Q-pot designer, Tadaaki Wakamatsu, makes small jewelry pieces out of wax: he moulds and cuts the wax to create an ideal shape and then he casts it in metal. He aims to make people happy, positive and excited through his accessories, which become a communicative vehicle: wouldn’t you strike up a conversation with someone wearing a creamy blueberry cake ring?
