On a beautiful blue-skied January morning, Escada Sport kicked off the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with their A/W 2012 collection. We’re presented with a seeming disarray of patterns, cuts, and textures. But since Margaretha and Wolfgang Ley’s first 1978 collection show “ESCADA – Sporty Elegance,” the brand has been linked with a metropolitan femininity that doesn’t shy away from bright contrasts and striking elements. Understanding the diversity of their young clientele, ESCADA Sport creates distinct imageries for each “individual.” Velvets, plaids, leathers, and cotton are intricately layered and contrasted with stabbing colors.
