The discreet charm of outmoded objects is still safe and sound: from typewriters to intercoms, from lomo cameras to dial telephones to vinyls, all of us is secretly in love with every stuff which once lose in a standard war. The poetry of defeated objects continues living in an actual celebration of their shapes and colors, in a perpetual actualisation of their iconic strenght. A particularly impressive work in this sense, is represented by the “Don’t forget the cassette” series by UK creative illustrator Neil Stevens: he himself states, about this project, that “the popular C60 & 90 cassette format in some ways is a design classic”, with its “simple typography and block colours”. So he created this neat but impressive gallery of illustrations which effectively mix revival and modernity. It’s time to enjoy the nostalgia reminiscence of you wasting a bunch of time in rewinding the tape of your favourite cassette with a pencil.
