Mike Giant. Benvenuti a Frisco!

Good Things are coming soon: N.1 Love

Good things is a new project from the american creative agency Honeycomb, based in NY and Buoens Aires. The factory collects different artists (designer, stylists,…) under the name The Hives and organizes exhibitions of their works internationally. Good Things is a concept following a positive approach to a better life and a chance to make the world better with less. Every year Good things chooses an idea and the artists are called to represent it in their creative way. The Good Thing of 2010 is Love and supports are a limited edition series of t-shirts (16 different pieces), each for every designer’s ideas. But there is something relevant: the series will help the environmental cause. For each shirt sold, 50 square meters of deforested land will be purchased, regenerated and protected by Wild Again organization with a lot of important benefits. The pieces are available in pre-order on the Honeycomb website, and official released on 7th of February.
Mr. Villains Class of 1983

A funny poster by Christoper Lee, a freelance designer from South California. Buy it here.
Rivet Gallery in Columbus, Ohio invited me to participate in their group art show entitled “We’ll Be Right Back…After These Messages”. The show pays homage to the classic cartoons of the 80’s and early 90’s. Those two time periods were the prime of my childhood, so I created a piece that showcases one of my favorite shows from that era…He-Man and The Masters of the Universe. I’ve been dying to do a fan piece for a while now so this was the perfect way to celebrate nostalgia. This is a giclée print made in a edition of 50. Please visit my online shop for purchase information. – C.L.

Empty Words is an installation by Jürg Lehni and Alex Rich. A plotter punches characters into paper, mechanically visualizing the artists’ favorite song titles. The sheets are installed as a narrative panorama on the gallery walls. Visitors are invited to produce their own artworks and to find the balance between auto-manifestation and technological constraint.
You can go and see it at the Swiss Institute Contemporary Art in New York till October 31st.
